6,000 enthusiastic fans greeted the stars of the Twilight movies yesterday for a panel on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, the latest movie based on Stephanie Meyer’s vampire romance series. Many people camped out for days to get a glimpse of Kristin Stewart (Bella), Robert Pattinson (Edward) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob) at Comic-Con, the annual San Diego pop culture convention.
And lucky fans got a special surprise early yesterday morning, when some of the series’ other actors—Ashley Greene (Alice), Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Elizabeth Reaser (Esme), Julia Jones (Leah) and Boo Boo Stewart (Seth)—served coffee and signed autographs. They were then joined by the series’ leads, and the main event began.
Fans were treated to two clips from Breaking Dawn Part 1, the first time any parts of the movie have been shown to the public. The first showed Jacob negotiating with the werewolf pack over killing Bella and Edward’s child. The second clip featured Bella having a few moments to herself on her and Edward’s honeymoon.
As well, there was panel of the cast and director Bill Condon, where fans were able to ask questions. Kristin and Robert talked a lot about the scene where Bella gives birth, which they said took two days the film and was their favourite. Kristin also revealed that during the filming of Bella and Edward’s wedding, no one on set was allowed to carry a cellphone or camera to prevent the crew from leaking pictures of Bella’s wedding dress online.
Fans, be sure to mark November 18 on your calendars—that’s the day The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 hits theatres.
