The final trailer for THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY has been released, giving fans a deeper peek inside Peter Jackson’s new trilogy.

The final trailer for THE HOBBIT was released one week before Tolkien Week and Hobbit Day, September 21, 1937, which just so happens to be the anniversary of the book’s publication. It’s crazy to think that was 75 years ago! Tolkien week recognizes Christopher J.R. Tolkien and his father J.R.R. Tolkien and praises the Middle-earth cycle: THE SILMARILLION, THE HOBBIT, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, UNFINISHED TALES AND THE HISTORY OF MIDDLE-EARTH.

The official trailer for THE HOBBIT shows a group of dwarves planning to take back their homeland of Erebor. Thinking a hobbit will give them an advantage, the dwarves choose Bilbo Baggins to join their quest. As they go on their adventure, Bilbo and the dwarves struggle to stay alive while being chased by different animals and creatures, balancing on top of a collapsing mountain and going to war with other civilians.

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY follows Bilbo Baggins as he attempts to take back the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the terrifying dragon Smaug. Bilbo finds himself becoming allies with thirteen dwarves and a warrior and meeting a creature that will change his life forever. Their quest will bring them unexpected troubles and delays along the way. What will be Bilbo’s fate?

Catch THE HOBBIT when it hits theatres on December 14 to find out! Plus, watch the final trailer below for a sneak peek of the action.
