With the last few moments of summer ticking by it’s time to face facts: soon the road trips and barbecues will have to make way for field trips and cafeteria lunches. The good news is that school isn’t the only thing starting this fall, and your favourite channels are lining up brand new shows for you to take your mind off of your homework (you should still do it, though).

SAM & CAT – Mondays at 6 p.m. on YTV

iCarly and Victorious fans rejoice! This fall brings the best of both worlds when Sam Puckett and Cat Valentine become roommates and do what any normal pair of teenage girls would do: start their own babysitting business.

ANNOYING ORANGE – Premieres Thursday, September 5 at 6:15 p.m., airing Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. on Teletoon

Chances are you’ve at least heard of Annoying Orange, which is only the most watched web series in YouTube history. Join Orange, a handful of other fruits, a marshmallow, and Nerville (YouTube’s Tobuscus!) as they ride their amazing time traveling fruit cart from one wacky adventure to the next.

What do you do when your garage band is fine when it comes to music, but has a problem with lyrics? Steal your big sister’s diary, of course! After that it’s only a matter of Corey, our star, making sure his sister Trina finds herself in embarrassing situations that will lead to fiery diary entries (and hit songs for the band).

WENDELL & VINNIE – Mondays at 8 p.m. on YTV

When Vinnie, a free-spirited bachelor without a care in the world, suddenly becomes the legal guardian of his 12-year-old nephew Wendell you know life is going to change in a big way. Watch as Jerry Trainor (Spencer from iCarly) goes from playing “sort of adult” brother to playing “sort of adult” adoptive father.

The Teen Titans are back in action, with Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg returning to fight evil and . . . do the laundry? This new series has the young heroes having to balance saving the world and living together without any adults around, a big enough challenge even without superpowers.

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE – Premieres Friday, September 6 at 8:00 p.m., airing Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on Teletoon

The roster of Marvel’s summer blockbuster (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow) is joined by Falcon, a rookie superhero eager to save the world alongside the greats. Together Earth’s mightiest heroes unite against threats no single one of them could withstand!

YOUNG JUSTICE: INVASION – Premiering Saturday, September 7 at 10:00 a.m., airing Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. on Cartoon Network

Season 2 jumps ahead five years, with our teenage heroes all grown up and a whole new cast of young crimefighters to join them. Lion-O and his friends return to the small screen with a remake of the 1980s cartoon, packing in even more action and adventure than the original ever did. THE NEXT STEP – New episodes returning Friday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. on Family Channel

Our return to The Next Step Studio is a tense one, with the midseason finale leaving its dance captaincy up in the air. The dancers still have to get their act together, though, if they really want to be serious about competing and winning at regionals.
