Attention Marvel fans across Canada and the United States. This feature introduces a playful new tribute to the world of superheroes, turning beloved characters into a readable alphabet you can enjoy and collect.
Designer Mike Boon of Mike Boon Designs drew an alphabet inspired by Marvel heroes and villains. He had long hoped to create an alphabet based on Marvel characters but paused because the field felt crowded and the pool of characters seemed limited. Yet his lifelong love for Marvel kept him pushing forward, curious to see how a single universe could translate into letterforms that feel instantly recognizable.
Driven by that passion, Boon set a clear challenge: to represent 26 heroes and 26 villains drawn from one expansive universe. Each letter is inspired strictly by the character’s face and upper torso, a constraint that guides the design toward bold, expressive silhouettes while maintaining readability and distinct character cues. The goal was to balance aesthetic flair with legibility, so every letter tells a story at a glance.
Two alphabets are presented separately below, each exploring a different side of Marvel’s cast. One set highlights heroes, while the other celebrates villains, offering a complementary view of the Marvel cosmos.
