If you were too young to take part in the virtual pet crave of the ’90s or if, like us, you were totally into it and would give anything to go back, there’s good news! A new Tamagotchi app has been launched in which you can once again raise those cute little virtual pets!
In case you need a refresher course, a Tamagotchi was an egg-shaped key chain featuring a small screen on which a pixelated “pet” was born, raised and eventually died all in real time. Despite requiring a lot of care and babysitting, they were insanely popular since they came out in 1995.
Now, to celebrate the 16th birthday of the toy, Sync Beatz has decided to revive the little creatures in a smartphone app to the delight of thousands of ’90s kids! The app, called Tamagotchi L.I.F.E. (“Love Is Fun Everywhere”) is available for free for for all Android devices.
The idea is the same: there is a little critter that you will need to take care of by feeding it, playing with it and cleaning up after it, but unlike the original Tamagotchi toy, the app is available in full colours and also offers the awesome option of utilizing the traditional egg-shaped screen or taking advantage of the entire phone or tablet screen! There are also more possible characters that can hatch as well as a room to keep your collection of pets.
