Rafael Nadal has won the French Open once again and had become the first man to win the Grand Slam singles tournament eight times!
“I’m very happy, very emotional,” Nadal stated. “It’s a very important victory for me.” Nadal had beaten fellow Spaniard, David Ferrer in straight sets during Sunday’s finale in Paris.
Nadal was previously away for about eight months thanks to a serious knee injury he suffered. The French Open was his return to the sporting world and he’s definitely proven himself.
“I never like to compare years, but it’s true that this year means something very special for me,” said Nadal about the record win.
