Abigail Harrison is only 15 years old, but she’s already an astronaut-in-training and may even be the first astronaut to step on Mars!

As of April 24, Abby joined with Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano to take on a massive social media educational project. While Parmitano collects information aboard the International Space Station, Abby will act as his Earth liaison!

Still in her sophomore year of high school, Abby manages to balance her regular schoolwork with her work of passion as an astronaut-in-training. Space and space discovery have been her passion since she was five years old and would star gaze thanks to the beautiful and clear Minnesota skies. Since then she’s been diligently working at achieving her goal of becoming an astronaut and recently revealed her plan to become the first astronaut on Mars.

“I think it’s very likely that I will be the first astronaut to go to Mars,” Abby stated. “I think I’ll have to work really hard at it and that a lot of things will have to line up correctly for it to happen but that like I said, if you work hard at something, it can happen.”
