Bullying is a huge problem in schools and has been receiving extensive coverage thanks to the tragic stories of bullying victims. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to stop some bullies from picking on their classmates, but the parent of one bully wouldn’t stand for it.
Ally is the step-mother of Kaylee, a school yard bully who teased another girl for her clothes so much that the poor girl refused to come to school. Enraged, Ally decided to teach her step-daughter a lesson to make her realise how much words can hurt.
Ally went out to the local thrift store and bought about $50 worth of clothes that she knew Kaylee would hate and never voluntarily wear. She then made Kaylee wear these clothes to school! When Kaylee’s classmates began talking behind her back about her fashion choices, Ally’s punishment was a success. Kaylee soon realised that it’s not a pleasant feeling to be picked on and talked about.
Though it only took Kaylee two days of humiliation to realise she was wrong, Ally admits that it was still difficult to watch her daughter go through it. It just goes to prove that bulling hurts more people than just the victim and we hope that more bullies would take a cue from Kaylee and start thinking of the feelings of others!
