The bond between a person and their stuffed animal is a special thing, especially when the person is a three-year-old girl. Riley and her stuffed bunny, Nummy, have been together for as long as Riley can remember, so you can imagine her devastation when the bunny fell from her stroller and onto the tracks as she and her mother were exiting a MBTA train in Boston. Riley began to cry and explained to her mom that she needed Nummy and didn’t want him to get run over.
When an MBTA employee saw how distressed Riley was, she made a call to the next train to make sure that it stopped before flattening the bunny. She then jumped down onto the tracks and rescued the toy. The world really needs more people like this woman!
Riley, her mom (and Nummy, of course) were so grateful that they brought flowers for the MBTA worker. Hopefully, Riley will keep a tighter hold on Nummy from now on!
