How to make it
1. The prep begins with a neat workspace. Arrange all ingredients in small bowls and keep a plate nearby for easy access. Tape a large sheet of parchment to a flat surface so the sheet stays smooth and won’t drift while the decorating starts.
2. Unwrap an orange Starburst and set it on its wrapper. Microwave it for seven seconds, then let it cool for at least 15 seconds so it firms up enough to handle. Roll the piece into Olaf’s iconic nose shape with your fingers and set it aside.
3. Break a few pretzel sticks to form Olaf’s hair. Tiny shards will give the snowman a playful, tousled look when placed on the head.
4. Melt the white candy melts in a microwave safe bowl at 40 percent power in 25 second bursts, stirring between intervals until completely smooth. Transfer the melted candy to the cleaned squeeze bottle and recap the cap.
5. Pipe a circle of white candy onto the parchment to form Olaf’s head. Use the craft brush to smooth and even the surface so it dries evenly.
6. Use the edible blue and black pens to outline Olaf’s eyes, then allow a moment for the ink to set before the next layer.
7. Pipe a second layer of melted candy over Olaf’s head, building up toward the top for a dimensional look. Smooth with the brush, then tuck 2-3 pretzel slivers as hair and add two candy eyes.
8. Pipe more melted candy under the eyes and place a nose just below and between them. Add more melted candy around the nose and use the brush to smooth. Let the candy fully dry before proceeding.
9. Melt the chocolate candy melts in a microwave safe bowl at 40 percent power for 45 seconds, stir until smooth. Clean and dry the brush, then paint Olaf’s mouth with the melted chocolate and let it dry.
10. Rinse the brush, dry thoroughly, open the squeeze bottle, dip the brush, and paint Olaf’s tooth at the top center of the mouth. Set aside to dry.
11. Scoop two generous scoops of vanilla ice cream into a small bowl. Add two or three chocolate buttons and two pretzel arms. Gently peel Olaf’s head from the parchment and place it on top of the ice cream. Serve immediately.
