It’s no secret that regularly eating McDonald’s (or any fast food) is not good for your health, but apparently no one ever thought to ask weather it was okay for animals! A stray cat in new Zealand confirmed to the world that regularly eating fast food is bad for any species when it survived a year eating nothing but McDonald’s nuggets and fries!
Frankie the cat was abandoned by his owners when he was just a kitten and Frankie ended up wandering into the parking lot of a McDonald’s in the suburb of Frankton. He became a local celebrity and was named Frankie after the town.
Frankie was so beloved that customers visiting the McDonald’s would order an extra patty especially for the cat or would drop off some of their fries or nuggets for Frankie to munch on. Not surprisingly, the fatty, greasy food started doing harm to Frankie’s delicate little kitty body and an SPCA officer picked him up because he looked swollen and matted.
He was then put on a healthy diet of cat food, but Frankie was so addicted to the junk food that he refused to eat anything else making it very difficult for his new foster mother! She even said that she was so fed up that she considered just going out and buying him a burger!
Luckily, Frankie is now on his way to living a healthier lifestyle and will hopefully find a forever home, soon!
