After the release of her fourth studio album in 2009, we hadn’t heard much from Alicia Keys… until now! She has recently announced the upcoming release of ‘Girl on Fire’, her fifth studio album. Despite what many HUNGER GAMES fans may think, the title is not an allusion to Katniss!
The album is set to come out on November 27. To keep eager fans happy until then, Alicia will be performing her first single from the album, also called ‘Girl on Fire’, at the MTV VMAs on September 6. The song will launch on iTunes and be played on the radio two days prior to the event.
The album has been described as a modern compilation of Alicia’s trademark soulful anthem-like tunes. On the topic of the new album, Alicia Keys said, “’Girl on Fire’ is about finding your voice, about being unleashed and about trusting your instincts and trusting yourself. I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
Considering the fact that she’s a 14-time Grammy Award winner, we are confident this album will fall in line with the success of her previous releases.
