Ariana Grande’s latest single, “Baby I,” was just released to rave reviews and the young singer is already working on the music video for the song.
She revealed that the song — a cool, R&B number — reminded her of ’90s singers she she grew up listening to. “I love that. It felt like ’90s, Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child,” she admitted. “I like that it has that throwback feeling to it.”
She went on to add that the song is more mature than her previous hit, “The Way” featuring Mac Miller. “I wanted to take the opportunity while everyone was waiting to see what I was doing next to show them something different. And I think that it’s different, a little more mature and I liked that,” she stated.
Filming for the video will begin this weekend and Ariana hinted that she might be traveling back to the ’90s for the video! “We’re shooting it Sunday and Monday, this weekend. I’m so excited. Lots of color. And lots of… baggy clothes. It’ll make you smile,” she teased.
