Emblem3 sign have been signed to Syco Music, Simon Cowell’s label on Columbia Records!
For those who may be scratching their heads wondering who they are exactly, Emblem3 were contestants on the second season of the X Factor USA. The group consists of Drew Chadwick (20 years old) and brothers Keaton (16) and Wesley (19) Stromberg. They grew up together in Washington but now live in California. Simon Cowell acted as mentor of the Groups category throughout the season, making it no secret that he liked this trio very much. Through their weekly performances on the live shows, they incorporated their sound of reggae, hip-hop and pop into all the songs they covered. Their catchy sound and cool surfer style had girls in the studio audience screaming and made them a fan favourite. They were eliminated near the end of the competition, finishing in fourth place.
Emblem3 are now signed to three Sony Music labels: Mr. Kanani, a label from Savan Kotecha, a songwriter/producer who has worked with X Factor UK alumni One Direction and Cher Lloyd; Syco Music, which is co-owned by Simon Cowell; and Columbia Records, owned by Sony Music. The trio is currently working on their debut album, which is planned to release before the end of this year. Along with Savan Kotecha (who helped write songs such as One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful”), other collaborators on the album include Kool Kojak, John Feldman, Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub, and Good Charlotte’s Benji and Joel Madden.
