Born This Way hit maker, Lady Gaga, has just helped raised over $47 million for charity. Gaga attended a fundraising gala for the Robin Hood Foundation on Monday night, where she performed for some of Wall Street’s biggest bankers.
Fellow performers included Saturday Night Live comedian Seth Meyers and rock/rap artist Kid Rock.
Black Eyed Peas members Fergie and apl.de.ap were also on hand to auction off a package that included the opportunity to compose and record a song with bandmate Will.I.Am. The package ended up being sold for an astounding $400,000.
The Robin Hood Foundation’s goal is to raise money for veteran and poverty programs in New York. While the event had an impressive take of $47 million, previous events have greatly surpassed this total. Last year’s gala managed to raise $88 million and 2009’s brought in $72.7 million. But it’s still nice to see stars helping out!
