Ed Sheeran has teamed up with artists across genres, from Taylor Swift to One Direction, and his collaborative streak shows no sign sign of slowing. The British singer has joined Lupe Fiasco on the rapper’s new single, Old School Love, taken from Lupe’s forthcoming album, Tetsuo & Youth.

The track centers on love, the past, and nostalgia. The pairing of Sheeran and Lupe felt unlikely at first, yet the duo brings a surprising chemistry that many fans quickly warmed to. Given Sheeran’s track record of diverse collaborations, Lupe’s decision to place Sheeran’s name on the album made sense for the project’s creative direction.

Tetsuo & Youth was slated for release in early 2014. Lupe had already released the lead single, Crack, featuring Chris Brown. The supporting tour was scheduled to run from November 2 through December 15, visiting 32 cities across the United States. Canadian dates had not yet been announced by the rapper.

Listeners can hear the new single and form their own impression of the collaboration. Fans may wonder which artists could join Sheeran on future projects.
