All while busy on their world tour and filming their first 3D movie, One Direction still have time to write new music. They are joining forces with fellow British pop band McFly!
In a new interview, McFly bassist Dougie Poynter revealed that they have been working with Niall Horan! “It hasn’t got a title but we wrote the song with Niall,” Dougie said. “He’s got some good ideas so had a lot of input.” He also called the song “stadium epic,” speaking to the venues that One Direction play in. “They play to arenas and stadiums around the world. So I think it’s a bit of a challenge to come up with some songs to go with that.”
This isn’t the first time McFly has worked with 1D either. Lead singer Tom Fletcher has helped write “I Want” from “Up All Night” and “I Would” from “Take Me Home.” With songs like these already accomplished, we can’t wait to hear what this new song will sound like!
Earlier this month, Tom tweeted “Recording with @NiallOfficial is always an adventure.” Niall responded with “@tommcfly u know it lads! Always an adventure! #WWS@dannymcfly Love you boys.” Second lead singer Danny Jones has also used the hashtag #WWS in his tweets to Niall. Could this be a clue about the new song? Guess we’ll have to wait to find out!
A few days later, Danny tweeted that he was in the studio recording the song with the rest of the 1D boys, including this Instagram picture! “Guess who’s in the vocal booth….. ???? #wws”
