It’s about time! Fourteen time Grammy award winner Alicia Keys will be releasing her fifth studio album, ‘Girl on Fire’. Since her first single back in 2002, Keys has earned international attention and success.

The album consists of a variety of different sounds, as Keys experimented with powerful hip-hop beats and electronic soul. It also highlights her beautiful piano playing. ‘Girl on Fire’ contains collaborations with famous producers and talented singers, including Frank Ocean, Bruno Mars, Emeli Sandé and Jeff Bhasker. This highly anticipated album has already achieved mixed reviews from music critics, but the rest of her fans will just have to wait until tomorrow to pick up the album and decide for themselves.

Did you know?

  • Her single, also named “Girl on Fire” was released on September 4. There are two versions available for purchase- the “Inferno” version featuring Nicki Minaj and the simple “Blue Light” version.
  • Her album was co-produced by Swiss Beatz, who’s also her husband.
  • Keys performed “Girl on Fire” live for the first time at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. The performance also featured gymnastics gold medalist Gabby Douglas.
  • She has also confirmed a U.K. tour to promote her new album. In the month of May 2013, she will be visiting London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham and Manchester. Tour dates in other countries will be announced soon!
