7. Insp. Jacques Clouseau (THE PINK PANTHER)
It was a tough debate deciding whether or not to honor the original PINK PANTHER played by the beloved Peter Sellers in 1963, or give the glory to Steve Martin’s remake in 2006. But when Peter Sellers is up against anyone, he always wins.
6. Sherlock Holmes (SHERLOCK HOLMES)
Again, it’s tough to narrow down who gets the glory when it comes to a name like SHERLOCK HOLMES, given the billion (we assume) takes on the fictional detective. But, the first thing that comes to mind is Robert Downey’s adaptation in 2009, with a sequel on the way for this December.
5. Agent P (PHINEAS AND FERB)
Perry the Platypus, a.k.a Agent P, is so good at being a detective that neither Phineas nor Firb even know that he is one. Off duty, he’s typically seen with drool hanging from his mouth, but on duty, he’s the best for any job assigned by the O.W.C.A. (Organization without a Cool Acronym).
4. Harriet M. Welsch (HARRIET THE SPY)
Unlike the rest of the investigators on this list, Harriet actually has no apparent reason for being a spy… and she gets herself found out. All in all, she’s actually the worst spy on this list, but she made the cut because we have a soft spot for youth coming-of-age stories.
3. Scooby and the Gang (SCOOBY DOO)
Besides the PINK PANTHER and INSPECTOR GADGET, Scooby and the Gang take the cake for best theme song. But considering the villain was almost always “Old Man Something-or-other”, they should have seen the “shenanaghins” coming
2. MacGyver (MACGUYVER)
Number one awesome thing about MacGuyver: he could literally make the most ridiculous weapon out of the most inanimate objects. Number two awesome thing: everything he made in the series could actually be made in real life. What can you make with some bubble gum, a rubber band, and a broken watch?
1. Gadget (INSPECTOR GADGET)
It was a close call for best theme song, but INSPECTOR GADGET takes it, thus topping the list. Considering his lack of poise or ability to be stealth, it’s amazing that he triumphed over all of Dr. Claw’s no-good-doings. Now, let’s all collectively together forget that they ever made a live action movie, forever tainting the name.
