You might have caught a few words here or there regarding a certain rumour circulating around about a BOY MEETS WORLD sequel. Well, it isn’t a rumour… Disney is literally casting the characters for their GIRL MEETS WORLD pilot right now!
BOY MEETS WORLD was an old television sitcom that aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000. The show revolved around the life and coming of age of a boy named Cory Matthews. Viewers followed the hilarious events that happened in his life and at school with his best friend Shawn.
Now, fast forward twelve years to GIRL MEETS WORLD! The story centres around Riley Matthews,the young daughter of present day Cory and his wife/high school sweetheart, Topanga Lawrence. Riley will have a bossy older brother named Elliot and a pessimistic best friend named Maya. There will be more details about Elliot, Maya and other characters in the near future.
What’s exciting is that there has been word going around that Ben Savage andDanielle Fishel, the original actors who played Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, may be coming back to play Riley’s parents in the sequel! Nothing is confirmed yet, but stay tuned for more information!
