After what seems like ages, the lead character in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of CINDERELLA has finally been cast!
Lily James, who is best known for her work on DOWNTON ABBEY, has been chosen to play the classic fairy tale princess in the big screen adaptation. The film will also star Cate Blanchett (THE HOBBIT) as the evil step-mother.
The film will be directed by Kenneth Branagh who you may remember as Gilderoy Lockhart from HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS. Branagh is also the directorial mastermind behind the hit THOR, among others. With a resume like Branagh’s we expect this new adaptation to be spectacular!
CINDERELLA will begin production later this year with a tentative 2014 release date. Though no Prince Charming has been cast, yet, who do you think would be perfect for the role? Let us know your choices on Facebook or Twitter!
