We all love the hilarious sitcom NEW GIRL, starring one of the most lovable actresses Zooey Deschanel, so can it really get any better? The answer is yes! We announced a few weeks ago that Taylor Swift was set to guest star on NEW GIRL’s season two finale and now, we get a first look at her character! The episode will air on May 14 and with Zooey and Taylor side-by-side, it’s bound to be a hilarious night!
Taylor is set to play a woman named Elaine who is attending Cece and Shivrang’s wedding. Zooey expressed her excitement about Taylor being on set. ”I’m a huge fan of hers,” says Zooey. “I was fully geeking out about meeting [Taylor]. I didn’t go to meet her right away because I kind of had to compose myself – there’s a 14-year-old girl inside of me.” Liz Meriwether, the showrunner of NEW GIRL, also dished that Taylor was also really excited about being on set! Liz said, “she was quoting lines to us from the show. It was a really exciting night!”
Jake Johnson, who plays Nick on NEW GIRL, also spoke out about what it was like having Taylor on the show by saying that Taylor’s triple threat status was “a little bit frustrating. She came in and is really nice. It’s not an easy scene. There were probably 70 extras there – though I’m sure she performs to so much bigger [crowds] than that on a regular basis. She had, like, a little monologue and delivered it perfectly. Liz gave her alternative jokes and lines, she delivered them all perfectly. It was frustrating!”
