Oana Gregory kick started her acting career by landing a role in the movie SPORK and guest starring on Disney XD’s LAB RATS and KICKIN’ IT. At only 17 years old, Oana currently plays Amanda on Disney XD’s CRASH AND BERNSTEIN.
THE MAGAZINE recently spoke to Oana about her success, CRASH AND BERNSTEIN
What is your favourite thing about being on CRASH AND BERNSTEIN?
Working with the puppet, because not everyone gets to say “Hey, I have a puppet friend!” It’s really cool and different. And Tim Lagasse (the Puppeteer for CRASH) is great. He really makes that doll come to life. He’s really funny and amuses everyone on set everyday. It’s just so much fun. He’s a great person.
Other than having the awesome puppet on set, what’s a typical day on set like for you?
My cast members and I always eat breakfast together and talk about our days. Then we have to get schoolwork done, so we do that and then go off to the set and have a bunch of fun!
How do you balance school and being on set?
I’ma junior in high school and yeah, it’s difficult. I was just studying for my SATs that I recently took. It’s difficult, but it has to be done. We have teachers on set, so that really helps!
How similar would you say you are to your character Amanda?
We’re not similar in the attitude because Amanda’s more bossy andI’mmore laid back, but I guess we’re similar in our fashion sense and style.
If you could act as any other character instead of Amanda, who would it be and why?
Hmm… from my show, I would be either the puppet or my cast member Landry’s role (Cleo Bernstein), because her role is really fun, too. From another show, I would be another character from KICKIN’ IT because they have a lot of fun doing all those cool karate moves!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I’mreally liking the pathI’mon right now. I would really like to work on new movies and a bunch of new projects. I really want to stay in the industry and continue being an actor.
Now, for some fan specials! Who’s your favourite actor or actress?
Natalie Portman! And I love Mila Kunis too. I’ve wanted to meet her since forever.
Who is your main role model or inspiration?
My Disney star inspiration would have to be Ashley Tisdale. She’s been very smart in her acting career.
What kind of music do you like and what’s your favourite song right now?
I’minto dance and pop music.I’min love with Ellie Goulding and I recently went to one of her concerts.I’ma fan of Rihanna and I love her new song “Stay”.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to become an actress or actor?
I would suggest taking acting classes and being really confident in yourself. Also, don’t give up because there’s a lot of competition and it’s hard sometimes, but if you really want to do it, don’t give up!
What can CRASH AND BERNSTEIN fans expect in the upcoming episodes?
We have some really fun episodes coming up! We have a parade going on so there’s going to be a bunch of talented people, clowns and more on the set. I don’t know exactly when that’s coming out, but it’s soon! That one will be really cool.
