Ever wanted to be famous but don’t have the time to go and audition for television judges? Well, Syco Entertainment and YouTube are now partnering up to give you the opportunity to audition online for stardom from the comfort of your home.
The You Generation will be the world’s first global audition channel! Simply upload a video to show off your skills and you could win a cash prize. The You Generation plans to discover the world’s next big YouTube stars.
Launching in 26 countries and running over 52 weeks, there will be 26 contests. Fans can subscribe to the YouTube page, where they can upload their auditions. Finalists will be chosen every two weeks and the winner will be announced on the second Friday of every contest. Winners receive a cash prize and then become a finalist to win an amazing grand prize!
Contests are not just for singers – make-up artists, chefs and style gurus are just some of the categories that fans can submit to! Experts and Syco executives will judge every submission.
The You Generation will go live on Wednesday, March 20 at 3 p.m. EST. The channel will launch with a special live stream interview with none other than Syco artists, One Direction! They will be backstage before their concert to announce the first call-out contest for The You Generation.
Hosting the channel will be Will Best, one of the UK’s hottest emerging presenting talents. He will lead the calls-to-action and introduce behind-the-scenes videos from the House of Syco. He will also share the best and funniest auditions and the latest news on The You Generation. Will and Simon Cowell (Syco founder) are going to announce the bi-weekly contest categories over Skype, The You Generation’s technology partner.
