Pep talks, new love and mended relationships – this week on THE NEXT STEP was full of aww-worthy moments!
The episode starts off with Eldon and Michelle working on their duet. Eldon says that it feels really “easy and natural” and by the looks on their faces, it’s safe to say these two have a major connection! Michelle admits that their chemistry makes her want to tell him how she feels.
Later on, Eldon and Emily go on a picnic date and Eldon asks Emily how it’s going at Elite. Emily confides that she is finding it difficult to make friends within the tight-knit group of dancers. Eldon later confesses that he feels bad about these feelings he has for Michelle, but the best thing to do is to forget about her and focus on Emily.
Later at the Elite studio, Emily gets called out for being a half a beat behind the rest of the troupe. The choreography is a lot harder than what she’s used to and Emily doesn’t know if she’s up to it. One thing’s for sure – this doesn’t sound like Emily’s typical “go for it” attitude. When Emily gets moved to the back row, it’s the last straw. We’re actually starting to feel bad for Emily!
Meanwhile at The Next Step studio, Tiffany encourages Stephanie to keep auditioning for acting roles. Stephanie wants to be a triple threat, but she needs to develop thicker skin in order to make her dream come true.
Riley meets Emily after her rehearsal to apologize. Emily blows up, saying that she can’t forgive Riley for everything she has done. When Emily meets Eldon and is in a bad mood, Eldon has a realization that hanging out with Michelle is fun and easy, whereas it’s never been like that with Emily.
Emily is struggling with being deemed a “back row dancer.” She isn’t used to working her way up, but after Eldon’s pep talk, Emily’s mood is lifted. When Emily heads back to the studio, she picks her game up and finally gets some praise from Amanda.
Emily says that just knowing Eldon will support her no matter what brings them a lot closer together. Uh-oh… we see some trouble brewing ahead! With Eldon’s new found connection to Michelle getting stronger, were not sure how long he’ll stay as a shoulder for Emily to cry on. Later in the episode, he even forgets about his date with Emily! Things are not looking good!
Back at The Next Step studio, everyone wants to know how James’ and Riley’s date went. James stays pretty tight-lipped and the other dancers tease him for trying to play it cool.
Riley tries to resolve things with Emily yet again! After another mini-argument, the girls start to mend their relationship and get back on track to being sisters. Emily even gives Riley some boy advice. How cute! Everything seems to be going smoothly – as long as they keep their dance and personal lives separate this time!
The episode ends with Eldon saying he’s not sure how he feels about Emily anymore. With all the chemistry with Michelle, we kind of saw this coming. One thing’s for sure – next week is going to be INTENSE. Tune in to THE NEXT STEP on Family Channel on Friday at 7 p.m. ET to see how it all unfolds!
