Between the costume complications and dance captain drama, it’s been a long road to regionals, but A Troupe is finally ready to go!
The dancers are about to get on the bus to go to regionals and everyone is feeling nervous and excited. The troupe has high hopes, but after last week’s drama, anything could happen.
As the group waits with their luggage, Kate says she has a surprise for everyone. She brings the dancers into the other studio and inside is… Daniel! What a pleasant surprise! Some of the younger dancers at The Next Step serenade the A Troupe with a song. Talk about an amazing send off!
Everyone’s smiling, but the mood quickly changes when Kate brings up the costume debacle again. Suddenly, Chris walks in the room holding a box with the costumes. Everyone is so relieved, especially Kate.
The dancers seem to have everything they need to win… only time will tell how they perform!
When they arrive at Absolute Dance Regionals, the dancers have a surreal moment as they step out onto the empty stage. Everyone reflects on their journey, but something is clearly bothering Emily. She knows something is going on between Michelle and Eldon, but she’s not exactly sure what.
As the dancers are waiting to register, Elite comes in with matching track suits and staff. It seems like Amanda and her crew are letting their celebrity status get to their heads.
Amanda approaches Emily and calls the A Troupe “a joke.” And with that, The Next Step is so ready to win. Bring it on, Elite!
This year’s competition has 24 teams arranged in three brackets. There are eight teams per bracket and each must face off against one another. The top scoring team in each bracket will move onto the semi-final round. But all is not lost if a team doesn’t make it to the semi-finals right away. There is a also a wild card spot! In this competition, anything can happen.
Kate meets the dancers to let them know that Seeds and Elite are in different brackets. If The Next Step wants to beat them, they’ll have to make it to the semi-finals.
West overhears an interview with Seeds’ captain Marcel. He finds out that Seeds only has nine dancers because one of their teammates got stopped at the border, but is on his way. If Seeds doesn’t have 10 dancers, they’ll have to forfeit the competition.
Though they’re The Next Step’s direct competition, West can’t stand injustice. He knows how hard Seeds has worked to get to regionals and approaches Marcel to let him know he can step in to be their 10th dancer if need be. Marcel says no. He has a lot of pride and won’t admit that they need West.
West goes back to A Troupe and tells them that he wants to take Tony’s spot and dance with Seeds. The dancers are outraged. Even though Seeds is in a different bracket, there is a chance that West could injure himself.
Everyone has mixed feelings about it and decide to take a vote. After West’s explanation, it seems that most are in favour of him lending his moves to Seeds, as long as he promises to be back by 3 p.m.
Seeds is minutes away from going on stage and Marcel finally gives in. West will join them.
Seeds hits the stage and puts on a great performance. They’re on point and West is doing a fantastic job. The Next Step dancers are on edge – they’re proud of West, but at the same time, they’re eager to see him back on their side.
But it’s up to the judges to decide… and in the end, it’s announced that Seeds has a whopping 88/100 points! It’s official: Seeds is moving onto the semi-finals, thanks to West.
The episode ends with The Next Step dancers in costume. Everyone’s there, except for one person… West! Suddenly, he steps out from around the corner. But he’s not walking— he’s limping! Has the A Troupe’s worst nightmare has come true? Then, there’s one last twist: West isn’t actually injured, he was just pranking them! Typical West.
The dancers are relieved and hit the stage to perform. We can’t wait to see how they do next week! Check out their performance by tuning into THE NEXT STEP on Family Channel, Fridays at 7pm ET!
