Are Riley and James still going to do the duet for Nationals?
While at Culture Shock, Riley tells Emily about Beth and James. Emily tells Riley that there is probably nothing to worry about and that she should just ask James what happened. Riley agrees just as James walks into Culture Shock.
When Riley asks him how rehearsal went, James tells her nothing happened! Riley then tells James she saw the whole thing! James doesn’t know what to say, he was trying to protect her by not telling her about the kiss and that’s just made things worse.
Back at the studio, everyone is finding groups to audition for the Nationals. Amanda, Thalia and Giselle all join forces and so do Daniel, Chloe and Hunter.
Meanwhile, James asks Eldon and West for advice about the “Riley” situation. James tells them that the kiss lasted about nine seconds long, which means James could be in a lot of trouble.
To try and fix things, James finds Beth and tells her they can no longer do the duet. Beth is very understanding.
Meanwhile, Riley no longer feels like she can do the duet with James because she no longer trusts him. Kate is shocked when Riley tells her the news, but she tells Riley that she needs to act like a professional, which means leave all the dirty laundry outside of the studio.
The auditions for group choreography are underway; Giselle, Thalia, and Amanda do an amazing job and are the group chosen to go to Nationals. Daniel is really annoyed!
Riley is finding some alone time in Studio B; when James comes in and has her sit down to watch his dance. At the end of the dance, James kneels down in front of her and tells her how sorry he is. Riley is about to forgive him when Beth walks in and she is reminded why she was angry with him in the first place. She tells James that they are officially over and storms off.
James is heartbroken, so Beth decides to stay and comfort him. In the end, he is going to do the duet with Beth so that he can take his mind off Riley and the fact that they are no longer together.
