The creators of THE AMAZING RACE have a new idea for a reality show in mind inspired by the popularity of J. R. R. Tolkien’s THE HOBBIT and the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy.
The show will be called THE QUEST and will require contestants to carry out missions and adventures in a fantasy-themed environment inspired by Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Unlike other reality shows that spark memorable characters that become part of pop culture, this show wants to keep it simple. The cast will simply consist of Tolkienites who want to compete to become a hero.
This show has been in talks for years, but only now is everything finally coming together. Most of the details are already planned out, but the most important part of the show is still missing: the cast. To pick the competitors, the show’s creators are inviting Tolkienites to apply for a chance to be on the show and stated that the most important personality trait needed is competitiveness.
