On the anniversary of the 2012 London Olympics, the Anniversary Games will be held and many of the nation’s athletes will be competing!

Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis and Greg Rutherford will be taking part along with the rest of the British track and field medal winners. Out of 16 Paralympic medalists, 14 will return to compete in the Anniversary Games as well.

Jessica Ennis, who won the gold medal in last year’s Olympic games for the heptathlon, said that is already training and working hard to prepare for the games. She will be competing in the 100m hurdles and the long jump, while fellow track and field star, Mo Farah will be running the 3,000m.

One winner from last year’s Paralympics, Oscar Pistorious, has been banned from competing at the Anniversary Games due to the fact that he is standing trial for murder. Ed Warner, who is the head of U.K. Athletics stated that he didn’t want the event to turn into a “media circus” thanks to Pistorious’s presence.

The Anniversary Games will be held this July at the Olympic Park.
