Pop rock outfit Rebel Coast, fresh off their win on YTV’s The Next Star: Supergroup, spent the spring touring across Canada, taking their music from coast to coast. After a Montreal stop, the band rolled west to Toronto to headline a packed Virgin Mobile Mod Club show on Saturday, May 17. The lineup that night also featured Keek, Diego Gomes, and Ben Zamora, all sharing the stage with Rebel Coast and helping turn the venue into a lively showcase for Canadian pop and rock talent.

Keek opened with a high-energy set that put fans right at the edge of the crowd. The performance included new songs such as Just Like The First Time, and it closed on a high note with the infectious track Feels that left fans buzzing for more.

Diego Gomes delivered a 30-minute solo set that energized the room, with the crowd singing along to his take on Drake’s Hold On, We’re Going Home. He then showcased his songwriting with Best Friend’s Girl and surprised the audience with the live debut of Save The Last Dance For Me, a track he co-wrote with Spee Chalkiotis from NEVEREST.

Ben Zamora followed with songs from his Boardwalk EP, including Press Rewind and One Night. The Canadian pop electronic artist brought a dynamic, catchy energy that built anticipation for Rebel Coast to step into the spotlight later in the night.

On stage Rebel Coast’s five-member lineup launched into a vibrant set of originals and well-chosen covers. They moved through Counting Stars by OneRepublic and Pompeii by Bastille, then offered their own anthem We Are The Brave. A moment of crowd participation came with a spirited sing-along to One Direction’s Story Of My Life, which sent the venue into a cheer-filled roar.

With the room still hungry for more, Rebel Coast returned for an encore, delivering Don’t Stop Now and sending the audience into a louder, more energized finale that lingered long after the lights came up.

All in all the night delivered a strong performance, and it left attendees looking forward to more music and more shows from Rebel Coast as they continue to build momentum across Canada.
